Not all Facebook "Friends" are really Friends!

Last week I received a Facebook Messenger (which I don't have installed by the way, I use only the Messenger on the website-not the app) message from someone who has never messaged me.

They said,

"Hi"

"Hey, I'm good, hbu (HowBoutYou)?" I replied.

"Ok I'm pretty good, enjoying the moment of life..." HUMAN FIREWALL ALERT!!!

Now whenever we have an internet encounter of the SCAM kind our human firewall will usually go off. Somethings not right with the way this person is talking.

I mean WHO says "Oh I'm enjoying the moment of life"?

Only a scammer right?

So it gets better.

"Have you heard the news about BFAG?"

What the heck is BFAG? That's what I'm supposed to say.

So the scammer can say, "blah, blah, blah, just need your personal information to sign you up!"

It ends with me giving them my bank account info (only so I can get paid, right?) or my credit card info (so they can get paid) or worse my social security info and PII (Personally Identifiable Information) so they can sell my info and get paid.

The scammers routines are endless!

What's your SCAM story? Did you avoid a scam? What happened?
